Values

Collective Insight has the following values:

  • We believe that businesses exist to serve customers. They should profit if and only if they unlock value for customers.
  • We believe that responsible individuals and organizations pay attention to their impact on sustainable development. Resources should be used efficiently and in moderation. We are part of a larger ecosystem that should be shared wisely and appreciated, not plundered.
  • We believe that businesses should respect and value their employees.
  • Serving customers means respecting customers — respecting their intentions and attention. We believe that customers want peace of mind and clarity in their life. People don’t need more stuff to distract them from their core interests. We strive to help organize and network people to be more effective in reaching their goals.
  • We believe that everyone has a part to play in solving problems in their communities, cities, states and countries. All that is missing is a way to coordinate this problem-solving towards common goals. (Government needs all the help it can get!)
  • There are many ways to achieve collective goals: government policies, democracy, markets, brainstorming, bureaucracy, and so on. These methods have pros and cons and impact stakeholders differently. Whatever method used, technology should be designed to complement and improve upon these processes! (Poorly designed software should not undermine processes!)
  • We believe that a properly organized crowd is wiser than the sum of its individuals.
  • We believe that markets are often great ways to unlock value in a community. Fair markets provide opportunities for exchange where all parties are made better off.
